People come to therapy with many different goals in mind. Some want to resolve a specific problem or get help making an important decision. With these clients, we may chose to work short-term - just until the specific problem has been resolved. Other clients may be looking to make a more comprehensive change in their lives - either within their couple or family, or as an individual. In this case, we may need to use a longer time-frame. As a therapist and marriage counsellor with over twenty years training and experience, I am able to tailor your therapy to meet your specific needs.
Our sessions together will be conversations. You will have the time to express yourself in whatever way you feel comfortable, but I will also be active in sharing my thoughts and impressions. When I work as a marriage counsellor, I am sure to provide a safe environment where each partner can express even those difficult things that need to be said.
I take a supportive, affirmative role and am comfortable discussing issues related to body, mind and spirit. I always keep in mind the impact of your community, culture and beliefs, as well as the influence of your childhood and current family. When working as a marriage counsellor, I may find it helpful to understand the family environment of your home growing up.
I am interested in and respect what each person has to say, helping even young children and teens feel comfortable in my office. I welcome clients of all ages, cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations.
Fees
Many clients can claim the fees for my services on their private insurance. I am a member of the Ordre professionnel des travailleurs sociaux du Québec (OPTSQ) and the Academy of Naturopaths and Naturotherapists (ANN). People can chose to pay either at the end of the session or be billed monthly. Receipts will be provided.
Telephone Therapy
Telephone Therapy is available if you are either unable to come to the office or don't live in the Montreal area. I also offer one-time consultations if you need help with a specific issue.
